Woodland Hills is a neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. In the early 1900s, Victor Girard Kleinberger purchased land in the area and began developing it into a residential community. He named the area Woodland Hills and advertised it as "an island in the seas of civilization." During World War II, Woodland Hills became home to an aerospace manufacturing plant that produced aircraft engines for the war effort. After the war, many of the employees of this plant settled in the area and contributed to its growth.
